Meet, tweet, network and share at the Learning Technologies 2012 eXchange

London » 12 Jan 2012 » Training Press Releases » Learning Technologies and Learning and Skills

The team at Learning Technologies and Learning and Skills is hosting an official eXchange to give the learning and development community a chance to meet, network and collaborate at the event. eXchanges will provide a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with speakers from the conference and will host the event’s ‘tweet up’.

The eXchange will be hosted by benchmark organisation, Towards Maturity together with their partner Training Journal. The aim of the eXchange is for visitors, delegates and speakers to meet, collaborate and share across all three floors of the Learning Technologies conference and exhibition, and Learning and Skills.

It is the first time that experts who are speaking at the conference will be involved in conversations as part of the exhibition. Throughout the day, eXchanges will consider a range of practical questions to promote learning excellence. Attendees can book to take part in small group face-to-face conversations with the speakers directly or can take part live via social media channels.

‘We’re incredibly excited about exploring the trends and themes that are being discussed at the conference with a wider audience’ comments Laura Overton of Towards Maturity. ‘The learning and development community is such a vibrant place for discussion and debate. We’re looking forward to finding practical answers to people’s questions, but also stimulating innovation and new ideas with those attending the exhibition and conference .’

Tweet up
For those in attendance at both the conference and the exhibitions, the eXchange will also host the event’s official ‘tweet ups’. These scheduled sessions are an informal opportunity for attendees to meet up with existing contacts, network and meet new people.

Kate Graham of Ascot Communications is the event’s rapporteur, ‘With over 4,000 attendees across two days it’s really easy to miss catching up with people. The tweetups are a great opportunity to put some time aside and make sure you see some of your personal learning network who you probably don’t get to see very often. It’s also a chance to network and meet new, like-minded learning professionals. You don’t have to be on Twitter to attend, just come along and say hello!’

The team is encouraging all attendees who use Twitter to visit the eXchange stand on arrival at the event to collect their blue sticker and identify themselves to fellow users. Attendees of the conference will be able to collect their stickers at registration.

There are four ways to get involved in the eXchange:

  • Book a slot to take part in the face to face conversations with speakers (spaces are limited and bookings will start from the 18th of January)
  • Visit the eXchange area to provide your ideas on Stand 45 LT or stand 218 L&S
  • Get involved in the conversation via Twitter (#LT12uk and #LAS12UK)
  • Join the first day’s Learning Technologies tweet up on Stand 45 at 12.45pm on Wednesday 25 January (Day 1)
  • Join the second day’s Learning and Skills tweet up on Stand 218 at 12.45pm on Thursday 26 January (Day 2)
