Marie-Pierre Gouaux of Atos Origin becomes Training Manager of the Year
Bray Leino BroadSkill

18-Feb-2005 » Training Press Releases » Marie-Pierre Gouaux, Learning & Development Manager for Atos Origin, was chosen as Training Manager of the Year at the Institute of IT Training's awards dinner earlier this month. The title is bestowed on an individual who has shown exceptional skills in managing an IT training department and has made a significant and demonstrable impact on the performance of their organisation's employees.

Gouaux firmly believes that training should be treated as a business within the business and be able to demonstrate clear value for money. The function is at the heart of Atos Origin change programmes and has recently demonstrated major impact in helping cultural integration following the merger with ShlumbergerSema.

Achievements over the last year have been impressive, yet Gouaux has still managed to achieve a 40% reduction in training costs. Training bookings and management were automated during 2004 using Enterprise Study Network and training administration was outsourced to BroadSkill.

The judges commented that Gouaux "was completely engaged with the business and its strategic objectives, and that her approach was thoroughly professional and self-confident. She is extremely well respected within the business and her commitment to her team demonstrated that she is a strong team player."

Gouaux said: "I am delighted to receive this award. It is wonderful recognition of the work done by my group and of the importance attached to learning and development by Atos Origin as a whole."

Gouaux believes her experience could be of value more widely. "For the future, I would like to do more externally and work with the Institute and others to improve training delivery and the quality of the IT training industry in general."
