24-Jan-2006 » Training Press Releases » Intellego Systems, part of AIM-listed Intellego Holdings plc, is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with Composica Ltd, a subsidiary of one of Israel's foremost Internet technology groups, to provide the Composica Enterprise TM ('Composica') server-based elearning authoring solution in the UK and Ireland. Described by an analyst of leading elearning industry consultancy Brandon Hall as 'ideal for collaborative concurrent authoring', Composica Enterprise offers real-time collaboration among team members and provides a powerful programming-free WYSIWYG environment to create high-quality interactive e-learning content, all via a web-browser.
Team Work
Enabling teams to plan and author remotely, Composica is a robust e-Learning authoring system that brings new meaning to the term team-work. Authors, designers, subject matter experts and reviewers collaborate using a sophisticated groupware authoring environment with tasks management and page-level lock out control, granting live overview of progress throughout the development process. With Composica, building e-Learning content can finally be a truly collaborative experience
Flexibility and Object Reusability
Composica's combination of reusable learning objects and improved collaboration between team members significantly shortens development time, offering full control over the way elements appear and behave. Authors are never limited to a set of predefined templates or styles. Composica's object oriented approach provides unprecedented control over the efficient reusability of content and its logic. It separates the content, its appearance and its behaviour. The look and feel of each course can be swapped out even after the content has been organized because the system keeps styles, navigation rules, and persistent graphics in distinct layers and objects, which are separate from the learning content.
Sophisticated Assessment
Assessment creation in Composica is easy yet powerful. Every interactive assessment feature imagined can be easily implemented using simple objects and widgets with no programming or scripting. Composica supports single or multi chapter tests with predetermined or randomly assigned questions and includes a sophisticated grading mechanism that allows assignment of different weights per chapter or question.
LMS Integration
Composica seamlessly integrates with standard Learning Management Systems as it is fully SCORM compliant. Performance data down to the test item analysis level is captured and passed on to the LMS for management and reporting purposes. A metadata editor allows for the creation of extended course related metadata, which the Learning Management Systems can use to better categorize and distribute the content.
Commenting on this exciting announcement, Edward Arnett, CEO of Intellego said: "We're delighted to be partnering with Composica Ltd on a world-class solution that now raises the bar on remote-authoring elearning solutions. With prestige clients in leading Fortune 100 companies, we believe Composica Enterprise provides a clear forward migration path to those organisations that have to-date used PC-loaded elearning tools and are now ready to make the whole authoring process collaborative in order to improve the speed and quality of courseware creation, but also to raise the organisation's internal ability to meet across-the-board demand for elearning programmes."
