Making Change Happen short-listed for the prestigious e-Learning Awards 2007 with 'My Performance Coach'
Making Change Happen

21-Oct-2007 » Training Press Releases » Making Change Happen is one of only five nominees in the category of 'Most Innovative Application of Learning Technology' with 'My Performance Coach', the next generation in coaching, mentoring and performance support technologies.

The team at Making Change Happen team believes this nomination is a highly significant recognition of the unique capability of 'My Performance Coach®' (MPC) to meet changing market demands for innovative human behavioural support technologies. Those which enable employee engagement and the spirit of commitment to be effectively spread across workforces.

The nomination for the awards arose from the results of a 'My Performance Coach®' pilot with BT Wholesale. The pilot involved 80 participants and was measured on the impact of the following success criterion: (the case study and results can be viewed at www.makingchangehappen.com).

• Transfer of learning to the work place
• Performance
• Change management
• Stress management and well-being
• Leadership
• Personal challenge management
• Motivation
• Commitment

The MPC submission shows the effectiveness and value of the unique combination of technology-based coaching, mentoring and performance tools. The pilot participants were better able to manage their own emotional states, creating greater self choice, and feeling more positive in the workplace (e.g. inspired, energised, creative and relaxed). The result was greater contribution to output and productivity, especially during challenging or high pressure situations.

Debbie Rawlinson of Making Change Happen said "The feedback from the BT Pilot provided evidence that behaviour change happens mostly by speaking to people's feelings. In highly successful change efforts, people need to find solutions to challenges in ways that influence their emotions and not just thoughts. The pilot participants gained benefits ranging from insights into best practice, increased confidence and courage, resilience, challenging perceptions, clarity of purpose and objectives, and less stress".

The Making Change Happen team understands that the most important challenges for businesses trying to compete in a turbulent world are never just strategy, structure, culture, or systems. The heart of the matter is always about changing the behaviour of people. There's compelling science behind the psychology of change and personal transformation, which draws on discoveries from emerging fields such as cognitive science, linguistics, and neuroscience.

"With today's blistering pace of change, a critical differentiator for both fast growth and market leading companies is the ability to create tangible and widespread employee engagement, particularly around key business performance drivers, HR initiatives, change programmes and leadership competency frameworks. Finding scaleable and consistent new ways to implement change and provide support for performance and leadership challenges is an on-going priority for most organisations" says Nick Le Clère, CEO of Making Change Happen.

"The quality of support provision will also influence 'talent flows', to and from organisations. The best people will expect the best personal development and performance support opportunities to be provided to them. MPC provides a cost effective, comprehensive tool-set to help organisations release the full potential of their employees" Nick adds.

The short listing of My Performance Coach® is just the beginning of a new era in the transformation of coaching industry practices, to embrace learning technology solutions for scaleable and consistent employee empowerment and engagement.

The Awards are presented by e.learning age in association with The eLearning Network. www.elearningage.co.uk Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 8th November 2007 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London.
