Neil Lasher becomes the eLearning Network's deputy chairman
Trainer1 | London, UK

10-Dec-2007 » Training Press Releases » Trainer1's Neil Lasher has been appointed deputy chair of The eLearning Network (eLN), the UK's foremost professional association of users and developers of all forms of e-learning.

Lasher, a long-time member of the association's steering committee, has been appointed to serve alongside the eLN's new chairman, Clive Shepherd, the well known independent consultant who specialises in the application of technology to learning and communications at work.

Lasher, who runs Trainer1, one of the UK's leading independent e-learning specialists, has almost 30 years' experience of working in the field of IT and learning. Renowned as a 'master' of e-learning instructional design, he is a well known figure in the e-learning world and has recently presented courses on instructional design for delegates in the UK, USA, Russia and Continental Europe.

"Having worked as an eLN committee member for the last few years with some of the finest people this industry has had to offer, I am excited by the opportunity to work, now, as deputy chairman with Clive Shepherd and a committee of enthusiastic experts," said Lasher. "Together, over the next year, we hope to be able to steer the eLN into a new area of growth and create a network that will become an essential port of call for anyone who uses technology for learning."

The eLN, which celebrated its 20th anniversary at the end of November, is a non-profit making body that exists to promote information and best practice among the e-learning industry. In addition to helping to guide the eLN, Lasher heads the UK Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), and works with standards bodies such as the AICC to ensure that technology is meeting the needs of users worldwide, as well as the guidelines determined by the governing groups in the e-learning industry.
