Metropolitan Airports Commission utilizes Learning Management software to track FAA and TSA compliance training for 16,000 employees
Learn.com | Sunrise, FL

14-Jan-2009 » Training Press Releases » Learn.com®, the leader in on-demand workforce development and productivity, announced today that the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates the third largest aviation system in the nation, with headquarters in Minneapolis, MN, has selected to automate the management of its security and drivers training with a Learning Management System (LMS).

The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) is responsible for administering the security badge program for approximately 16,000 employees who must wear security badges while working at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. Since 2001, MAC's security regulations have changed constantly. The police department, who administers the Twin Cities' airport security operation, needed a method to ensure that employees who need badges were receiving vital compliance courses and testing information in a timely manner.

"The LearnCenter platform enables us to centralize, automate and administer essential compliance training and keep a record of employee involvement and test scores. Some employees take the training every year or two depending on the badge they wear. Other MSP workers, who drive on airport runways, must also be licensed to operate a vehicle and the LearnCenter platform will maintain the test results of these licenses as well," said Christi Duffy, IS Project Manager at Metropolitan Airports Commission.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission must meet both TSA and FAA requirements and therefore it is critical that training is managed and tracked accurately.

"It was our goal to have a system that was robust enough to meet our multiple needs and was easy and intuitive to use.  That's why we chose the Learn.com LearnCenter platform. We needed a solution that enabled the various departments throughout our organization to own and operate their learning and development to reach their training goals and objectives," added Duffy.

About the LearnCenter Platform
The Learn.com LearnCenter platform has been voted as America's favorite Learning Management System. Organizations of all sizes can now manage the entire pre-hire to retire employee lifecycle by creating a cost effective, high quality training, development and measurement environment designed to empower users with visibility into and control of their career planning while providing management with real-time business intelligence. About The Metropolitan Airports Commission
The Metropolitan Airports Commission was created by state law in 1943. A public corporation, the commission was designed to provide for coordinated aviation services throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Today, the MAC operates the third largest aviation system in the nation, consisting of Minneapolis-St. Paul International and six reliever airports. A board of commissioners appointed by Minnesota's governor and the mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul sets and interprets the commission's policies. Those policies are implemented by the commission's executive director and staff. For more information, please contact www.mspairport.com.
