OutStart Appoints Vice President of European Sales
Outstart
| Boston, MA
14-Apr-2009 » Training Press Releases » OutStart Inc. has promoted Matthias Schulz to vice president of European Sales, a newly created position. In addition to leading European Sales, Mr. Schulz will continue as the managing director, or Geschäftsführer, of Berlin-based OutStart GmbH.
"I have worked with Matthias for more than two years. From the moment I met him, I was impressed by his natural leadership ability, intellect, business acumen and excellent reputation within Germany's learning- and knowledge-management community," said Massood Zarrabian, chief executive of OutStart. "Matthias and his team have done a remarkable job growing our presence in the Austrian, German and Swiss markets.
"Within the last two years, Germany has come to represent more than 10 percent of OutStart's business, and Matthias has built deep relationships with our rapidly expanding customer base," added Zarrabian. "Despite the current economy, we're seeing strong European growth for OutStart, with Europe representing 30 percent of our 2008 orders. Matthias' leadership was a key to that growth, and we've promoted him to this new position to recognize his contributions."
As managing director of OutStart GmbH since its creation in 2006, Mr. Schulz has overseen rapid growth in both sales and customers, while building a sustainable, scalable business team. Since its founding, OutStart GmbH has opened offices in Berlin and Frankfurt and steadily grown a roster of clients such as Lufthansa and Sto AG that now numbers almost 100 Austrian, German and Swiss organizations.
Along with its German locations, OutStart serves several hundred European customers - including BT, the Royal Navy and Thales - through sales and support offices in Dublin, London and The Hague.
"Our growth is fueled by organizations that realize the transfer of knowledge is crucial to improving business agility, enabling people to perform their jobs effectively and providing rapid ROI for learning initiatives," said Matthias Schulz. "By meeting the market's demands, we expect to expand our European business."
At OutStart, we're out to solve a big problem. Most organizations posses a wealth of underutilized collective intelligence around their products, services and processes. This underutilization negatively impacts employees, customers and partners, costing precious time and money while hindering performance. Said simply, "what your people don't know will hurt you." OutStart's social business software, mobile and learning solutions act like a lifeline: connecting people to the know-how, creativity and learning they require to be efficient, effective and agile.
Since its inception in 1999, and backed by leading venture capital firms, OutStart has matured into a profitable and rapidly growing company with an impressive range of customers who are surpassing expectations and delivering exceptional business results. The company is honored to have customers like Autodesk, BB&T, Boeing Company, BT, CVS Caremark, DIRECTV, General Dynamics, Hewlett-Packard, Internal Revenue Service, McDonald's, MetLife, Prudential, Australian Defence Force, U.S. Navy, UK Ministry of Defence, Verizon Wireless and Yum! Brands. To learn more about OutStart, visit the company on the web at www.outstart.com. You can also read the blog at http://blog.outstart.com and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/outstart.
